
Shruti, 23, is the eldest of two daughters born to Kamal and actress Sarika and has a professional degree in music from the Musicians Institute, California. She has also learnt “North Indian classical music”. But now Tamil thespian Kamal Haasan says his name is a “disadvantage” for his daughter Shruti Haasan but “she will have to live with it”.
“It is certainly a disadvantage for her, but she’ll have to work with it that she is my daughter. She can’t change it and she’ll have to live with it and carry that luggage. And I’ll always be there to support her,” Kamal told in an interview.
Not many know that she debuted as a playback singer at the age of six, in ‘Thevar Magan’ (1992) and her first Bollywood playback came in ‘Chachi 420′ (1998). Her second Hindi song came in ‘Hey Ram’ (2000), in which she sung the bilingual versions of the title track ‘Rama Rama’ with her father, in both Hindi and Tamil. She also made a brief appearance in ‘Hey Ram’.
Her last released film song was in Gautham Menon’s ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’. Apart from singing, Shruti has also been a model and featured in magazines like “Frappe!” and “Verve”.

Kamal Haasan has got trouble now in his recent anticipated remake of ‘A Wednesday’. This film is planned to shoot in bilingual language, in Tamil and Telugu. While Kamal is going to play the role of Naseeruddin Shah in the original, Mollywood superstar Mohanlal and Venkatesh would play the Anupam Kher role in Tamil and Telugu, respectively.
But now it is revealed that Friday Film works, who is the producers of the original version, have sent a legal notice to UTV motion pictures, which had presented and marketed the film. It is stated that UTV violated the terms and conditions of the agreement signed between these two parties. So Kamal Haasan, reportedly producing the film with UTV, has to wait until this legal issue clearance. Also he had planned to finish this film as a quickie before he could start on his dream project ‘Marmayogi’.

Already once a long year back Malayalam superstar, who has played an important role in the ‘Thalapathy’ with Rajnikanth, is now yet to share screen space with ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ Kamal. Kamal Haasan’s is planned to remake the Hindi film, ‘A Wednesday’ in few days and Mammootty would be playing a key role in this film. Kamal Haasan, will play the lead role made by Naseeruddin Shah in the original, directed by Neeraj Pandey. Mammootty would get to play the role of the police officer played by Anupam Kher.
