Note of Alain: Here the business which has shaken Blogosphere, Twitter and TechCrunch for this morning (during the night on the west coast American). Hacker would have seized of the very confidential documents (apparently nothing very enthralling) concerning Twitter and sent them to TechCrunch (and others blogs) 24 hours ago. Michael Arrington decided to publish a part of it very soon (undoubtedly in the 24 hours who comes). Decision which causes already a very large polemic on the American Web. Here an extract of the article of Michael:
Here the dilemma: The type (” Hacker Croll”) which claims to have had access to hundreds of private documents and personnel concerning Twitter and its leaders and employees us sent a part of it this morning. The Zip file contains 310 documents; notes of meetings, contracts, financial projections but also of the banal orders of meal or calendars and connections telephones of certain employees.
We spent the day of yesterday to reading these documents; some are enough embarrassing for several people. Other documents show also plans of the offices of Twitter and provide passwords for accesses on certain private accounts of Twitter. We will not publish these documents.
But we will publish certain documents concerning financial projections, of the ideas of products and the notes of meeting as well as the starting idea for Twitter Show which was imagined there is little. (it is done here). There exists really a line which we will try not to cross but certain documents have such an informative value that we cannot not publish them.
Note 2: I invite you to follow meadows the evolution of this business on US TechCrunch or the debate makes already rage; Michael explaining the reasons of her choice in this ticket. But TechCrunch is not alone, others blogs already revealed part of these documents. To follow because Michael seems well decided has to publish the continuation in the course of the day of it. Is the question well to so know of such “stolen” documents can be published? I have some of aillor profited to modify the title of the ticket which launches the debate.
