The sound track of the film is slated to be released on May 17 and the movie will hit the theatres on June 12, post IPL-2. LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran made two last-minute attempts to escape to India or Malaysia, but these came too late as the Sri Lankan Navy had put up a effective naval blockade by then. These failures left no option for Prabhakaran, who had earlier hoodwinked and outmaneuvered the Sri Lankan security aparatus, to stay put in the northern war zone and fight to the last.
Prabhakaran made these attempts as Sri Lankan forces made major advances into the rebel-held territory this year, naval spokesman D K Dasanayake told PTI. “He had attempted to flee to India or Malaysia but he couldn’t as the Navy has strengthened its vigilance,” he said.
Media reports had earlier said that the LTTE leader may try escape to a South Asian country thorugh sea route. Prabhakaran’s body was yesterday recovered near a lagon in Puthumathalan in the northern region.

Kollywood is waiting with bated breaths to see whether ‘Thala’ Ajith Kumar and ‘Ilaiya Thalapathy’ Vijay would lock horns at the B.O., this year. Both the superstars, with millions of fans all over south India, are busy with their 49th films–Vijay with ‘Vettaikkaran’ directed by newcomer Babu Sivan and Ajith with ‘Asal’ by Saran.

Such was the response of the crowd that Rahman himself acknowledged at the end of the show that he would be delighted to return to Kozhikode once more. The show is the first of the 39 such live shows to be conducted by the maestro all over the world during the next five years.
The show was enlivened by the participation of noted playback singers Hariharan, K S Chithra, Benny Dayal, Rashid Ali, Javed Ali, Mohammad Aslam and Sayanora who sang 30 popular songs from Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam movies. Amy Winehouse has won a court order banning the paparazzi from pursuing her outside her London home, a source close to the singer’s management team said Saturday. The singer sought the order to ban photographers if they follow her or approach her within 100 meters (yards) of her home, according to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not directly involved in the case.
Winehouse posted the anti-harrassment injunction outside her home. The 25-year-old’s drug problems have been front page news in Britain, where she was pictured puffing on what appeared to be a crack pipe last year.
Winehouse sought the injunction last month after moving from the north London neighborhood of Camden — known for its music scene and drug culture — to the more sleepy Hadley Wood area of Enfield, further north.

Tata Motors on Monday said it has received over 2.03 lakh bookings for its Rs 1 lakh car Nano, garnering nearly Rs 2,500 crore.
The bookings were double the allotted number of cars for delivery. Fully paid bookings were nearly Rs 2,500 crore, the company said. Out of the total bookings, 70 per cent were financed and the rest on application through cash payment.
About 4,000 cash bookings were made online through www.tatanano.com, it said. Out of the three variants of Nano, the base model Nano Standard accounted for 20 per cent, mid-range Nano Cx 30 per cent and the top end Nano Lx getting 50 per cent of the booking. The bookings for Nano started on April 9 and closed on April 29.
